At November 30 regular sitting, moderated by Sisak Gabrielyan, the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport debated in the second reading and endorsed the draft law on Making Addenda to the RA Law on Military Service and Serviceman’s Status authored by the Government.

The RA Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (ESCS) Karen Trchunyan informed that the bill was revised.

The Committee debated in the second reading and endorsed the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Law on Mass Media and the enclosed legislative package authored by the deputies of the Civil Contract Faction Artur Hovahnnisyan, Vahagn Hovakimyan, Taguhi Ghazaryan and Sargis Khandanyan.

According to Artur Hovhannisyan, after being adopted in the first reading, the content of the package was not changed. The NA Armenia Faction presented proposals, which were not accepted by the authors.

The RA Minister of Justice Karen Andreasyan has presented the positive opinion of the Government, underlining that the package does not restrict the freedom of speech. It will not only endanger the activities of the mass media, but it will even support them to carry out their activities based on more reliable sources, the Minister said.

The package will be included in the draft agenda of the NA upcoming regular sittings.
